The European Community has announced that from 2020 it will be compulsory to obtain an ETIAS to travel to Italy. All those wishing to travel to Europe will have to register with the Electronic Travel Authorization System (ETIAS).
Travel with ETIAS for Brazilians to Italy
ETIAS, similar to the U.S. ESTA, was introduced in 2017 and is currently in the process of development and implementation.
The European Community has decided to implement this measure due to the recent terrorist attacks on Europe, as well as the worst migration crisis in its history. But ETIAS is not only a security measure, it will also help reduce border waiting times. So you can say goodbye to the endless lines when you get to Italy and the rest of the European countries.
ETIAS is intended for citizens of all countries who currently do not need a visa to enter the Schengen Area, which includes Brazilians. It will be valid for 3 years and allows its holder to travel through the 26 countries of the Schengen Area (Italy included) for 90 days.
As you know, from 2020 you have to ask ETIAS to travel to Italy and the rest of Schengen Area countries.
